Where in the world is Rachel?

So my July roster has just come out….and let’s just say it isn’t the most exciting one I’ve ever had!

I’ll be heading to:

  • Hyderabad (t/a)
  • Newcastle (anybody fancy taking this one for me?!)
  • Amsterdam
  • New York (Yay! Killer flight I’ve heard, but I’m so ready to do some shopping!)
  • Medina (t/a)
  • Sydney
  • Kuwait (t/a)
  • Riyadh (t/a)

As you can see I’ve been given a fair few turnarounds! Not so much fun…but at least you get to come back to your own bed at the end of the day!

I LOVE your blog!!!! I’ve been invited to an Assessment Day in New York (a week from now), and I’m considering if I should even spend the money to get to the interview, it will be very expensive, my family and I can’t really afford it. So my question is, I have three small tattoos on my forearms, will they automatically turn me away for this? They can be covered with long sleeves but I’ve heard different things. Do you know any crew that have arm tattoos??
Thanks, and keep up the blog, it’s fantastic!!

Thanks Victorie, I’m so glad you like my blog! 🙂 To be very honest they are extremely strict with tattoos, men are allowed to have them on their arms/legs as they are covered by the shirt but for women absolutely no tattoos anywhere that would be visible in uniform. So unless you can cover it up somehow I’m not sure if you would get away with it! Good luck 🙂 xx

Hi Rachel! Your blog is so inspiring! I’m planning to fly to a different country to attend an Open Day. Before I do that, I just want to ask you something about the reach test because I’m really short. Firstly, do we have to use two hands or is one hand ok? Furthermore, do all fingers have to reach the 212 cm line? I’m really worried because only two fingers (my index finger & middle finger) can touch the line. Your answer would mean a lot. Thank you in advance! 🙂

Hi, good luck for the open day! To be honest I can’t actually remember, pretty sure it’s only one hand! Not sure about how many fingers though. Sorry!

How much rest do you get on say a 12 hour flight? What is your crew rest area like? Is it bunk beds? 🙁

      Oops I meant a smiley face! 🙂

We get a couple of hours, I’m not sure exactly how much but it depends on the length of the flight and it’s all written down in a manual somewhere! The crew rest area has bunk beds (they are pretty small though) and it looks different on each plane! 🙂

Hello, I love your blog! So interesting. Would you be able to do an article like ‘the day in the life of a flight attendant’ ? So from the moment you wake up, what exactly you do while you’re flying (like the service and how your positions onboard and everything you have to do all works) thanks!
