April Roster

It’s that time of the month again…roster day! It seems to roll around quicker every month, and we’re already over halfway through March, 2017 is definitely flying by!

Next month I’ll be starting with 10 days leave, and I won’t mention yet where we will be heading, but I will say there are some beaches involved! 🙂

After that my flights will be to:

  • BOM – Bombay, India (turnaround)
  • ZRH – Zurich, Switzerland
  • MEL – Melbourne, Australia
  • JED – Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (turnaround)
  • ZRH – Zurich, Switzerland
  • MXP – Milan, Italy

I hope you guys are still enjoying my month roster posts, and if there is anything else you’d like to see here on The Dubai Diaries, please feel free to let me know in the comments below!

P.s. Follow me on Instagram & Twitter for more day-to-day updates of where I am in the world! 🙂

Hi Rachel! I am your new follower. I enjoy seeing your picture. Would you mind to explain me what is rooster? Is that mean all your flight in one month? Thanks! 😀

I will post about Milan if I go there but I’m thinking about swapping the flight – we will see when the new roster comes out. I have not seen NAVER mail, what is this?

I would love to see posts on a ‘day in the life’ on a turn around flight and a post on what destinations are most sought after by the crew to bid on and why haha 🙂

Your rosters are a must have on an emirates cc blog if you ask me haha, they are so exciting! I think you should do a post with some passangers stories, I’m sure you’ve met some interesting characters who have made an impact on you, or like a day in a life kind of post perhaps?
Also, have you ever though of creating a ytube channel, maybe you now Maria who is also EK crew and has one?

    Hi Rachel!

I love your blog – I came across it 18 months ago just before I flew from UK to Bangkok with Emirates. I have always been scared of flying even though I wanted to see the world. Your blog has helped me so much in overcoming my fear of flying because your posts made me realise that there is nothing to be afraid of when you’re in the air! I made the conclusion that if flying was dangerous then you and thousands of other cabin crew wouldn’t be flying for your job 🙂

Three months ago I flew from UK to Australia and I loved the flight. Later this year I’m off to Costa Rica and next year I’m going to Tanzania. This comes from someone who avoided planes a couple of years ago 😉

I really like your roster posts. I also enjoy your day in the life posts as well. It would be interesting to have a month in the life type of post, so how many days you have off between your flights? Do you get home from one place then fly out somewhere else the next day?

Keep up the good work! Emirates is the best airline I’ve ever flown with 🙂

    From another Rachel!

Hi Rachel! Thanks so much for your lovely long comment, I’m so glad my blog has helped you overcome your fear of flying, that’s amazing! You will love Costa Rica, I lived there for 6 months with a local host family and went to school so it’s a place that I really love! Thanks for the post recommendations, I’ll try and make a note of a rough month 🙂 It could be 1-4 days off in between flights, depends how long they are usually! Hope you’ll fly Emirates again soon 🙂 xx

I started reading your blog several years ago and enjoy seeing your travels and glimpses of the cabin crew life. I love that you keep it so positive. I’ve seen you mention things you always stock up on in various locations, and it would be fun to see a post about must-buys/eats for you or cabin crew friends at particular airports/destinations.

Aw thanks so much, glad you enjoy my roster posts! 🙂 The girls that wear the trousers are the cabin service attendants, they are in charge of the shower spa in first class!

I enjoy the roster posts! You go to Zurich more than anyone I know… is that because you speak German? If that’s the case, why don’t you go to Germany more? Silly question but I was curious 🙂

Thanks Georgia! Haha well it’s also because I bid for Switzerland rather than Germany, it’s an easy short flight and a great allowance so I manage to save quite a bit of money 🙂

Certainly still enjoying your roster posts – always anticipate hearing where you’re going to get to travel this month! Loved all the travel and photo posts recently. Bon voyage!

Hi! I love getting to see where you are heading every month… I love seeing your roster! I’ve been following your blog for about 3 years now and absolutely love reading your posts, especially ones relating to your work, and how different things work. It must be so cool getting to see different places every week. I also love your posts on Dubai- I grew up there so its so great to feel ‘at home’ in your posts, as it were! Do you often get what you bid for, especially as you’ve been with the airline for a long time? (I know Emirates has a really fast turnover rate!) Are there many places left for you to visit on there emirates network?

Please keep up your blog, and your rosters, I absolutely love it and you have convinced me to combine my love for aviation and travelling and try and become cabin crew for Emirates in the future!

    🙂 xx

Thanks Kate! So glad you enjoy reading my posts 🙂 I guess Dubai has changed a bit since you lived here?! I quite often get what I bid for but then it also depends what I’m bidding for as some trips are much harder to get. I have a list of all of the places I haven’t been yet are there are still quite a few, especially as they keep adding more, haha! Do let me know when you decide to go for the job if you need any help or tips 🙂
