December Roster

I can’t believe we’re already on to the last roster of 2017! Where has this year gone?!

Although I actually only got one flight that I bid for in December, I’m not too disappointed with my roster. I managed to get on the swap page and get a London instead of Perth to do my Christmas shopping which is perfect!

I’m finishing up November with my trip to Taipei, and then I’ll be heading to:

  • PER – Perth, Australia – swapped for: LGW – London Gatwick, UK
  • SEP – Safety and Emergency Procedures, our yearly exams!
  • JFK – New York, USA
  • AMM – Amman, Jordan (turnaround)
  • HKG – Hong Kong
  • Leave
  • AMS – Amsterdam, Netherlands

Fortunately I’ll be back to working in first class next month, I have to say I’ve really missed it – business class just isn’t the same! πŸ˜€

As I mentioned above I’ve swapped the Perth for a London, so I’ll try and get some Christmas shopping done there, as well as a trip to the supermarket for all of my essentials.

After that I’ve got my yearly exams, which are always great fun…not! πŸ˜‰

Then it’s off to New York, which is the only flight I got that I bid for, so I’m looking forward to seeing all of the Christmas lights and perhaps even going ice skating in Central Park.

Next up is a quick turnaround to Amman and back, before a flight to Hong Kong, which I didn’t actually bid for but do love. I’ll be getting my fix of dumplings from Din Tai Fung!

I’m lucky enough to have leave for Christmas the second year in a row, and we’ll be heading to Mauritius for some sunshine this year – let’s hope the flights aren’t too full!

My last flight of the year is to Amsterdam – I haven’t been there for quite a while so if anybody has any good wintery suggestions I’ll be more than happy to hear them.

P.s. Follow me on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter for more day-to-day updates of where I am in the world! 🙂

Thanks for sharing your roster. As always, I’m excited to see where you’ll be traveling. Good luck with your exams!
If you’re looking for something to do around the holidays in NYC that you may not have tried yet, check out the New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show (https://www.nybg.org/event/holiday-train-show/). It’s a short train ride on the Metro North from Grand Central Station, and it’s so cool to see all of the New York Landmarks constructed out of twigs and plants.

    Hi Rachel πŸ™‚
Thank you as always for your blog posts. It really does brighten up my day to see a new post.
I’m heading on a trip to Hong Kong and Vietnam soon, and just wanted to say that your blog posts from these destinations have given me lots of ideas of what to do there and been really helpful, so thank you! πŸ™‚ As it happens I’ll be flying with EK which is definitely my favourite airline in the world, so I really can’t wait!
I haven’t actually been to the Netherlands but it’s a country I’d really love to visit some day. Here are some of the things I am looking forward to doing, although you might have already done all of these. I believe there is ice skating during winter in Museum Square which looks really cool. Then on my art gallery bucket list are the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, and the Mauritshuis in The Hague (apparently The Hague is just a short an easy journey to get to and back to Amsterdam in a day). I’m sorry if I’ve just told you information you already knew there, haha!

Thanks so much for reading Andrew! πŸ™‚ Hopefully you’ll love Hong Kong (one of my favourite places!) and Vietnam – I’ve got a trip to Saigon coming up tomorrow so hopefully will be able to do some exploring and then get it up on the blog. Thanks for all the tips for Amsterdam, hopefully places will be open since I’ll be there New Year’s Eve! (Unfortunately flying back before the fireworks haha)

Great roster. If you have time take a ferryride to Lamma Island ion Hong Kong is you haven’t been there. We spent a day there on our trip this month. Regards from South Africa. MarΓ―

Thanks for reading Mari! I have a really good friend who lives in Hong Kong with her husband and new baby so I usually see them when I go there, but I’ll see if she fancies a trip to Lamma island πŸ™‚
