February Roster

Welcome back to another roster post! It’s a short one this month, as not only is February a shorter month, but I’m still on reserve up until the 11th.

If you saw my January roster post you’ll know I started my month of reserve on the 11th, and so far it’s been very quiet. I’ve had a couple of airport standbys where I didn’t get used, a layover in Warsaw and two turnarounds to Jeddah and back.

As you can imagine, I’m itching to get out of Dubai! I’ve still got two weeks left of reserve so I’m really hoping for a layover or two. It’s pretty hard to make any plans as you usually don’t know where you’ll be the next day until 6pm, so even things like food shopping is tricky!

Once I finish my reserve I’ve only got three rostered flights in February, and these are:

  • DFW – Dallas Fort Worth, USA
  • FRA – Frankfurt, Germany
  • MUC – Munich, Germany

Sadly nothing that I bid for, but at least they are layovers, and with the Dallas I’ll have plenty of flying hours!

Since I’m the language speaker for the German flights, I can’t swap either of those. My brother used to live in Munich but moved to Lithuania a few months ago for his pilot training, so I’m not sure what I’ll do on either of those layovers yet!

P.s. Follow me on InstagramFacebook & Twitter for more day-to-day updates of where I am in the world! 🙂

Hey Rachel, if you like burgers, you should definitely go to Taste My Burger in Munich. I used to go there all the time when I lived there!

    Hi Rachel,
First off, love the blog! I’m mega jealous of your super interesting life.

I’m applying for cabin crew roles at a couple of airlines at the moment but my fave is Emirates by a mile! I’ve heard a rumour that Emirates have issues with scars. How true is this? I have a scar right across the middle of my knee from an operation. Is this likely to pose a problem? It wouldn’t be visible in uniform if I had trousers obviously. I’ve seen Emirates ladies in trousers plenty of times so presumably I could just opt for them? Thank you in advance

Hi Lauren! Thanks so much for reading, glad you enjoy my blog 🙂 Good luck with all of your applications, I’ll keep my fingers crossed! You do have to declare any visible scars, but I shouldn’t think one across the knee would be a problem, as the skirt is supposed to go to just below your knee, and you’d always be wearing nude tights as well. We aren’t allowed trousers (except the cabin service assistants who take care of the showers in first class) or unless it’s for a short-term exception. Best would be just to declare it 🙂 Good luck! xx

Amazing! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and for the really useful info!

My scar is visible through nude tights if you’re looking for it. But I didn’t realise the skirt sits below the knee so that would hopefully cover it as long as it doesn’t ride up too much

I’ve gone through the first stage of my application so fingers crossed. I’m well excited for this lol

Have a great flight! BHX is two class (economy and business only) and as I usually work in first class I don’t normally get it! 🙂
