Coffee in Cape Town

I love finding new cafés to try out around the world, and I was lucky enough to try what is supposedly the world’s best coffee, at Truth Coffee Roasting in Cape Town.

Having just flown to Nice with a lovely girl called Jen (and her great camera!) we had plans to take a helicopter ride above the city and see the natural beauty of South Africa from above.

Sadly, when we arrived it was raining, and the forecast for the next day was not looking great either. We decided to change our plans, and head to Truth Coffee Roasting for a leisurely breakfast instead.

Swinging by the Seychelles

I was so happy to finally be rostered a flight to the Seychelles, and despite only having less than 17 hours there, I was determined to make the most of my layover!

The flight from Dubai is just over 4 hours, so it’s nice and easy, although the aircraft we were on didn’t have a first class so I was working in economy this time.

However, I couldn’t complain as it meant I got a chance to be down the back of the aircraft and see the tail up close, which doesn’t happen too often!

I was also sitting by the window, and had some spectacular views of the island on approach.

Lion’s Head, Cape Town

A few days ago I was lucky enough to jet off to the beautiful city of Cape Town. I bid for the flight as it’s been a while since I last visited, and the beauty of South Africa never disappoints!

We had a great view of Table Mountain and the surrounding area on landing, and after arriving at the hotel early evening, it was time for me to call it a night. A few of the crew went out for steak and I was very tempted to join them, but 2 of the other girls and I had plans to get up early the next morning to hike Lion’s Head.

We were indeed up bright and early, and jumped in an Uber to the bottom of Lion’s Head, where there is a dedicated hiking trail up to the summit.

Mauritius: An Island Escape

When I think of a holiday in paradise, Mauritius is one of the places that always springs to mind. Since we celebrated Christmas at home with my family last year, it was time to head to Mauritius this year, and Joe very kindly invited my parents to join us and his family for a relaxing getaway in the sun.

We touched down after a 6-hour flight through the night, having not managed to sleep much. I certainly couldn’t complain about these views though, even if I’m not a fan of being trapped in the window seat!

A trip to Accra, Ghana

It was my first time to visit Accra, and I was excited to be heading to a new destination. After a nice and quiet flight we landed into Accra around lunchtime, and were greeted with fresh coconuts in the hotel. What a welcome!

After heading up to the room and freshening up, I popped on down to the pool to soak up some sunshine. I met up with a couple of the other crew and we sat by the pool having some cocktails and chatting. Since it was a Saturday, there was a DJ and everyone was in a party mood!
