Tapas in Barcelona

Barcelona is by far my favourite city in Spain (although I’ve only visited a couple) and when I saw it on my roster I was very happy! I actually lived in a town called Calella, which is around an hour from Barcelona, in 2010. I did an internship there in a hotel, and on lots of our days off we would hop on the train to Barcelona and hang out there for the day.

After a super easy flight which was less than half full, we arrived in the beautiful city!

Our hotel is just opposite a large shopping mall, and with all the January sales going on, who could pass up an opportunity to visit the home of Zara!

After finding a few bargains, we popped back to the hotel to meet up with some of the other crew. The captain and FO joined myself and a couple of the other business class crew.

The captain had a recommendation from a friend of a tapas restaurant to visit. As it wouldn’t be serving food for another couple of hours, we made our way to a small bar not far from the hotel for a couple of drinks.

The restaurant was in the “Born” district, so we found a big taxi and made our way there.

On the way we passed by an enormous cathedral, which we stopped to marvel at from inside.

Once we finally managed to find the restaurant (after walking around in circles quite a bit!) we ordered a delicious selection of wine and plenty of tapas to share.

The restaurant was absolutely full of hundreds of bottles of wine, all lining the walls! If only we could have tried them all 😉

We enjoyed a long leisurely dinner with plenty more tapas and wine (by this point I wasn’t taking any more pictures…) 😉

Soon enough it was time to head back to the hotel to catch up on some beauty sleep before the flight home the next morning!

As a flight attendant, are you often required to do some operational activities while bending down or any others that could give you lower back pain? Thanks!

Those tapas look yum indeed 🙂 The beaches of Calella can’t be beat by those of Barcelona though!

They were delicious! Haha Calella beaches were lots of fun; I worked 5 minutes walk away so we used to go and tan every day! 🙂

The beaches in Barcelona are shit because they are loaded with garbage. I’d take Callela over Barcelona any day
