The Dubai Diaries: Hamptons Cafe

I’d like to try and feature a few more places in Dubai, as it’s becoming even more of a cultural hotspot, and new cafes and restaurants are opening every day. There are so many new places planned for this year alone, and I’m excited to see the city transform when the Dubai Canal is finally finished. It’s such a huge project but I’m hoping it will be well worth the traffic jams now when it’s finally unveiled!

As well as that there are plenty of up and coming new areas, such as the City Walk expansion and the Opera House, which will be showing theatre productions, concerts, exhibitions and opera of course.

One place that I’d been meaning to try out for quite a while is The Hamptons Cafe. It’s actually been open for almost 2 years, but I just haven’t got round to visiting.

Located along Jumeirah Beach Road, it’s hard to miss when you pull up, as it’s covered in beautiful flowers and plants and has a gorgeous front terrace area, with beachy style sofas to relax in.

Spread out over 3 floors, the top floor is definitely the one to sit at, as it’s just like a conservatory with a gorgeous glass ceiling and plants hanging from every corner.

I sat out on the sofa waiting for my friends Michelle and Sally to arrive, and when they did we made our way inside to a table by the window. I loved all of the greenery, and small touches which almost made it feel like we were in the Hamptons!

The menu is actually on an iPad, which I usually don’t like, but it was very easy to use with beautiful pictures. I chose the burrata crositini, which came with delicious sweet potato fries. In fact, all of the food was absolutely delicious and we all had a hard time deciding what to order!

After the main courses, we decided to head outside to the balcony, which is also on the top floor, for some coffee.

Sally and I both chose an iced cappuccino, which hit the spot perfectly in the 38 degree temperature! We hadn’t quite realised that summer has definitely arrived in Dubai, as up until last week it had still been the perfect temperature to sit outside.

We also ordered a slice of carrot cake to share, which was more than enough for the 3 of us!

Michelle had a delicious virgin mojito, which was very refreshing and perfect for the summer temperatures. (Most cafes and restaurants in Dubai aren’t licensed, unless they are attached to hotels).

After finishing our drinks and cake, we made our way back downstairs to catch a cab. We couldn’t help but wait on the cute sofas by the entrance!

I will most definitely be back to visit the Hamptons Cafe, as it’s only a short drive down the road from my place, and the breakfast menu sounded very enticing!
