March Roster

Once again roster day has come round quickly, and with March being my top bid month, I was keeping my fingers crossed for some good flights.

Considering I have leave in the middle of the month, I actually got 3 of the flights which I asked for, which I am really happy about! I even have a new destination at the end of the month, which is always great πŸ™‚

In March I’ll be starting off the month landing from a flight to Zurich, and then heading off to:

  • BCN – Barcelona, Spain
  • NRT – Narita, Japan
  • NRT – Narita, Japan
  • Leave
  • DEL – Dehli, India (turnaround)
  • DEL – Dehli, India (turnaround)
  • MCO – Orlando, USA

I bid for all of those destinations except Dehli, so I’m very pleased with most of my roster!

Barcelona is one of my favourite European cities, and even more excitingly I’ll only be working half of the trip, as we get to fly back to Dubai as passengers, also known as deadheading! This is usually due to an aircraft change or extra flight.

Then two trips to Narita – I’m keeping all of my fingers crossed it’s not too early for cherry blossom season. I’ve been to Tokyo with my family in the past, and have done a flight to Osaka with Emirates, but this will be my first time operating the flight to Narita. Any tips are more than welcome! πŸ™‚

After that I have 5 days leave, and will probably head home, as it’s been a while since I’ve been to stay with my parents. My brother and his girlfriend will also be there at the same time (they live in Munich) with their puppy!

I get back from my leave to two not ideal trips to Dehli – departing at night and getting back after sunrise. Who knows – maybe somebody will swap with me for a layover, but I’m not very optimistic!

To round off the month, I have a 50 hour layover in Orlando! It’ll be my first time there, and I’m hoping to go to Disneyland πŸ™‚

An exciting month ahead, with a couple of new destinations for me.

Hi, it’s still to cold here in Tokyo for Sakura now, but I hope you can enjoy Sakura when you fly to Narita!

Sadly this time it was still a little bit too early (and rainy!) but we did see some beautiful plum blossom. Maybe when I go back in a few days the sakura will be out. πŸ™‚

Sakura beautifully blooms between late March and the first week of April in Tokyo usually.
You may be able to see Kawazu-Sakura which blooms earlier. There is the Kawazu-Sakura festival this weekend in Narita ( http://naritastym.art.coocan.jp ). I hope you can see beautiful Sakura this year !

Hi Vanessa, thanks so much for reading! I’ve just got back from my first trip to Narita and despite the rain all day had a lovely time. You can check out my story on instagram in the mean time and I will try and get a blog post up soon with the pictures. We visited the temple but didn’t stay too long because of the rain. I’ll make sure to try the tonkatsu on my next trip! πŸ™‚ xx

Peak bloom period is between late March and the first week of April here in Tokyo usually. Even your flight to Narita is before the season, you may be able to see Kawazu cherry which blooms earlier. There is Disney Resort (Tokyo Disney Land and Tokyo Disney Sea) too. I hope you can have a great time. Welcome to Tokyo!

Welcome to our Florida again. Besides Disney, you can also visit Universal Studios. Usually, we take a 3 hour drive from FLL to MCO and visit a park & come back.We get half price too. Visit EPCOT and the different world booths and don’t miss the 9pm Illuminations fireworks. Have fun!!

So glad that you got so many flights that you bid for. Can’t wait to hear about your new destinations! Just so you know, Walt Disney World (which is actually 5 different theme parks) is in Orlando, while Disneyland is in Anaheim, CA outside LA.

Oh thanks for the clarification! Will definitely make sure I go to the right one, haha! Considering Walt Disney World is 5 theme parks, any suggestion/recommendation on which one to visit?!
