Exploring Prague in the Sunshine

It’s very rare that you fly with the same person more than once or twice, let alone fly with your friends, so you can imagine my excitement when my friend Emma was able to swap onto my flight to Prague!

It was an afternoon departure out of Dubai, so we were feeling well rested and ready for some exploring the next day. The flight was pretty busy, but we survived!

Once we reached Prague, it was a bit of a drive to the hotel, and time was getting on, so we popped to a bar with an outdoor terrace next to the hotel for a sunset drink.

The next morning we both woke up starving, and ready for some breakfast! Luckily there’s a small crew lounge in the hotel which had coffee, fruit and pastries, so we popped up for a pre-breakfast breakfast, before heading out to the city in the glorious weather.

I’d googled where to go, and found a super cute café called Café Jen just 20 minutes walk away, set on a lovely quiet street outside.

After enjoying our absolutely delicious food, Em and I jumped on the tram, hoping that we were heading in the direction of the city!

We were soon greeted by beautiful old buildings, and a view across the River Vltava.

Strolling along the city, we enjoyed the sunshine, and soon arrived at the Charles Bridge, which was once the only means of crossing the river, and the most important connection between Prague Castle and the Old Town.

Once over the other side, we strolled around, stopping to grab an iced coffee (it was 35 degrees – almost as hot as Dubai!) along the way.

Slowly, we made our way up towards the castle, following a rough route on the map, and the crowds of people! It was pretty busy, being summer in Europe.

Eventually we arrived at the top of the hill, and were greeted with a spectacular panoramic view of the Old Town.

We strolled around, admiring the view for a while, before starting the walk back, down the steps this time.

Once again we walked past the beautiful church we’d seen from the top, and so many other pretty buildings and quaint streets.

We crossed back over the Charles Bridge towards the Old Town, taking our time to admire the chimney cakes being made, and eventually stopping in a small square for a homemade lemonade to cool down.

Before we knew it it was time to head back to the hotel for a little rest before the night flight back home – we’d walked over 16,000 steps!

Not before admiring the beautiful view one last time, of course.

I’m so lucky that I get to explore all of these amazing destinations – and this time with a friend!
