Ending 2014 in Paris!

My last flight of the year was to Paris…and for the first time ever, I flew with a friend! Taylor from VOLARE managed to swap her Bangkok and we were ready to wander the streets of Paris.

After a relatively early start and a busy full flight, we arrived! Luckily we were blessed with gorgeous weather, unlike 2 days earlier where it had been pouring with rain and I only made it as far as the shopping centre next to the hotel!

Jan Roster

First of all my apologies for being somewhat MIA the past few weeks. I’ve been so busy studying for my exams (haha only joking, I’m the queen of procrastination and I started yesterday)….but really I’ve just been busy!

I just got back from a lovely little mini-holiday to Hong Kong – my friend Michelle was operating the flight on the way out and then as she left my friend Sally arrived! So we spent 2 days partying, shopping, eating and sleeping! 🙂

Here's a sneak peek of what's to come in my next blog post!

Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come in my next blog post!

I thought I’d just do a quick update with my January roster; we got it a few days early this month.

An afternoon in Alcatraz

I’ve recently returned from a lovely trip to San Fran! It was my second visit, and this time four of us hired a car and drove into the city. Our main attraction for the day was possibly one of the most infamous prisons in the world – Alcatraz!

One of the girls had very kindly organised the whole thing, booking the hire car and the tickets for Alcatraz online, so all we needed to do was show up on time! There’s a ferry leaving every half hour, and once we boarded it was a quick ride across the water to the island.

A Visit to a Fairytale Castle

One of the great things about my job is that I not only get paid to travel the world, I also get to meet up with my family! My little brother Matt recently moved to Munich with his girlfriend Miriam, and when I saw a flight to Munich on my roster, I knew we would have to do something fun!

Inspired by my friend Taylor’s trip to Neuschwanstein Castle back in the summer (check out her blog here: www.volarelearningtofly.wordpress.com) I decided a day trip to the mountains was on the cards.

It was a pretty gloomy day, and after an early start and just under 2 hours of driving, we arrived in the village of Hohenschwangau, where the castle is perched on top of the hill.

As the inside is only accessible via guided tour, we paid for our tickets and had around an hour to kill before the 1/2 hour tour. That could only mean one thing – Kaffee und Kuchen! (German for coffee & cake – usually served in the afternoon, but we decided to break tradition!).

Saturday in Singapore

Singapore is right up there in my list of top ten destinations, so I was just a little bit excited when I saw it on my roster after at least 6 months of not having flown there. The flight left Dubai around 3am so most of our passengers slept, which made for a nice and easy flight (until they all woke up for breakfast before landing!)

Speaking of top ten destinations, would anyone be interested in a blog post with mine?

Once we arrived in Singapore, after a quick freshen up it was time to do some exploring. Some of us arranged to meet at 8 for drinks, but that was still hours away, so the mission was on to find some yummy street food!
