August Roster

Next month it’s finally my “top bid” – the month where I should get the flights that I ask for!

I’ll be starting the month off with a couple of days off, before heading to:

  • FLL – Fort Lauderdale, USA
  • ZRH – Zurich, Switzerland
  • FLL – Fort Lauderdale, USA
  • KWI – Kuwait (turnaround)
  • RUH – Riyadh, KSA (turnaround)
  • HKT – Phuket, Thailand
  • HKT – Phuket, Thailand

So as you can guess, I did get a couple of flights that I asked for!

Fort Lauderdale is somewhere that we haven’t been flying to for very long, and new trips are always popular ones. Despite having been bidding for it for months, it’s taken me a while to finally get it! I’m happy to hear any tips you have, especially as I have two 50-hour layovers there, so will have plenty of time to explore.

I’ll hopefully head to Miami to go and do some sightseeing there, as well as whatever other recommendations you guys have for me.

Another trip to Zurich, which I can’t complain about as it’s a nice easy flight.

After that it’s back to Fort Lauderdale for some more sightseeing, and hopefully eating some super tasty Cuban food!

I have 2 turnarounds next month, KWI and RUH, but both of them are short and should hopefully be nice and quick and easy.

To finish off the month, I have two flights to Phuket! I haven’t been to Phuket in a while, and I can’t remember if it’s rainy season in August, so I’m planning to top up my tan a bit if it’s sunny. If possible I’m going to try and swap one of these for a flight to HKG to visit my friends Kirsty and Dan, and their new baby Theo.

So there we go, a new destination for me to visit (twice!) and some old favourites! 🙂

P.s. Follow me on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter for more day-to-day updates of where I am in the world! 🙂

48 Hours in Phuket

I was lucky enough to be rostered a dreamy trip to Phuket this month. Most of our layovers are 24 hours, and a few of the longer US flights are 48 hours. However, sometimes there are these lucky occasions where you manage to get a 48 hour layover for a quick and easy 6 hour flight!

And when I say easy…it really was! We had 4 passengers in business class (with a capacity of 42 on the 777) so we were practically fighting to take them their meals, just to have something to do! We flew overnight, so after dinner they went to sleep, and we kept ourselves awake with cups of tea and coffee.

Once sunrise arrived, we started our approach into Phuket, admiring the gorgeous scenery below.

Unfortunately the 777 door windows are not quite as photogenic as those on the A380, haha! Nevertheless it was still a pretty view of the beaches and islands.
