June Roster

It’s time for another roster post over here on The Dubai Diaries! It feels like I live my life waiting for the roster each month, and then when I get it, thinking about what to bid for for next month’s roster!

In June I’ll be visiting a few old favourites, here’s my line-up for the upcoming month:

  • DFW – Dallas Fort Worth, USA
  • STN – London Stansted, UK
  • PRG – Prague, Czech Republic
  • Leave
  • HKG – Hong Kong
  • FCO – Rome, Italy

Back to Dallas – it’s only been a few months since my last two visits to Texas, but I’ll be heading back again. Since I went to a rodeo in Fort Worth last time, I’m not sure what I’ll do here.

Then is another flight to Stansted to see my family, and the sweetest little kittens that are now living with my parents!

After that I have Prague, which I don’t think I’ve visited since last summer. Originally I was rostered Lisbon, which I do love (and am a little bit sad about getting rid of!) but I swapped it, so that I’ll hopefully be able to travel home on an earlier flight for mum’s birthday.

Next up is a week of leave, as mentioned I’ll try and fly home for a bit – let’s hope the flights are not too full!

Straight after my leave I have a flight to Hong Kong. you guys will know that HKG is one of my favourite destinations. Funnily enough I didn’t actually bid for it this time around, and I got two! Sadly my friend Kirsty who lives there will be back in the UK this time.

My last flight of the month is to Rome, a place I haven’t visited for quite a while! This was originally another Hong Kong, but I decided to swap it as I won’t be able to see Kirsty anyway, and I love Europe in summer.

And just like that, that brings us to the end of June! Hope you enjoyed seeing where I’ll be flying 🙂

A Rodeo in Fort Worth, Texas

A home standby from 9pm – 5am meant I was refreshing my roster all day, hoping that a nice flight would appear. 9pm on the dot, after having unsuccessfully tried to sleep for a few hours, DFW appeared! I have to say, I was expecting to get a long flight as I’d had two days off prior (the legal requirement for us to get a ULR – ultra long range – flight), but I didn’t expect it to be Dallas, as I have one rostered in 2 weeks time!

Never mind, I quickly got up and packed my suitcase, waiting for crew control to ring and confirm the flight.

Departure time was scheduled for 2:50am, so the least I could hope for was that my passengers would go straight to sleep. Luckily I was also finally back to working in first class!

Flight time was a long 15 hours and 20 minutes, and as I was first to go on break, it felt like the longest 15 hours ever!

Dallas, Texas

Another new destination for me to visit! I’ve been lucky lately and have had quite a few flights to places that I haven’t had the chance to visit yet in my 5 and a half years at Emirates, and Dallas was one of them.

It’s certainly one of the longest flights we have, at around 16 hours. To say I was exhausted by the time we landed would be an understatement! Adding to the fact that we left Dubai around 3 o’clock in the morning, it was no wonder that all of us were fast asleep on the bus to the hotel within minutes!

Once we arrived at the hotel, I couldn’t avoid the comfy bed and had a good nap, before heading to the gym for a workout…in preparation for dinner at In-N-Out!

If you’ve never tried In-N-Out Burger before, it’s only available in California and Texas, and they do the most amazing burgers ever, seriously!
