Sunrise in Budapest

If you saw my October roster post, you might have noticed that I was rostered a trip to Zagreb. Well, last minute (the night before!) I got a roster change, and due to a change in the aircraft configuration I ended up going to Budapest instead!

Certainly not a bad change, and although I was very much looking forward to Zagreb, it had been quite a few years since I visited Budapest (I cycled from Vienna to Budapest with my parents!) so I was excited to see the city again.

Obviously with such a last minute change, I didn’t have a chance to plan anything, so once we landed, headed out into the city for a stroll with a couple of the girls from the flight.

I had a beautiful view of the river from my room.

October Roster

Roster time has come round once again, and October is my “top bid”! This means I have the highest likelihood of getting the flights that I ask for, and I have to say I’m quite pleased with how many I’ve got.

It’s not a top bid month without a couple of turnarounds though – let’s see if there are any willing takers for them, although I’m not overly optimistic!

Next month I’ll be flying to:

  • MAA – Chennai, India (turnaround)
  • STN – London Stansted, UK
  • ZAG – Zagreb, Croatia
  • Leave
  • MRU – Mauritius
  • DEL – Delhi, India (turnaround)
  • SEA – Seattle, US

First up is a quick trip to Chennai and back. Sadly it’s a turnaround; I would actually love to explore a bit more of India, as so far I’ve only been to Cochin.

Then I have another flight home to Stansted, on my birthday! I’m hoping mum will make me a delicious birthday cake 😉

After that is Zagreb, which I last visited in winter. I’m hoping that it won’t be freezing yet, and perhaps I’ll be able to go to one of the beautiful national parks or lakes, although I know they are quite a drive from the city.

Following my trip to Zagreb, I have 8 days leave! I’ll be heading off to Australia with my sister Lizzie, to visit our grandparents.

It won’t be to difficult coming back from leave, as I then have a layover in sunny Mauritius, where we stay at a great beach resort. I can’t wait!

Up next is another quick turnaround to Delhi and back, before my last flight of the month, Seattle! I’m expecting everywhere to be fully decked out for Halloween and look forward to visiting this lovely city for the third time.

P.s. Follow me on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter for more day-to-day updates of where I am in the world! 🙂

Coffee in Cape Town

I love finding new cafés to try out around the world, and I was lucky enough to try what is supposedly the world’s best coffee, at Truth Coffee Roasting in Cape Town.

Having just flown to Nice with a lovely girl called Jen (and her great camera!) we had plans to take a helicopter ride above the city and see the natural beauty of South Africa from above.

Sadly, when we arrived it was raining, and the forecast for the next day was not looking great either. We decided to change our plans, and head to Truth Coffee Roasting for a leisurely breakfast instead.

Villefranche-Sur-Mer, France

The south of France is full of beautiful little seaside towns, and on my previous trip to Nice we had driven past the delightful Villefranche-Sur-Mer on winding roads, and I was determined to check it out this time.

Myself and two of the other girls from my flight started off with a quick walk around Nice town, then jumped on the bus to nearby Villefranche-Sur-Mer. It was just a short ride, and we were soon wandering down the street ready to explore.

A stroll through Prague

For my second trip to Prague in the same month, I decided to take it easy on the sightseeing and just enjoy strolling through the city.

Once again the weather was beautiful, and I headed out with one of the girls from my flight. We walked past so may beautiful buildings, I just love the architecture in Europe.
