June Roster

It’s that time of the month again!

Another exciting roster ahead as Emirates will shortly be launching a new destination which makes it super easy for me to go home on a layover, Stansted Airport! Perhaps not as exciting for all the crew who think of it as “London” Stansted, but great news for me.

So here goes, my roster for June, starting off the month landing from my flight to Dallas, and then:

  • Leave
  • BRU – Brussels, Belgium
  • STN – London Stansted, UK
  • STN – London Stansted, UK
  • KBL – Kabul, Afghanistan
  • AMM – Amman, Jordan
  • BAH – Bahrain, Bahrain
  • CDG – Paris, France
  • BRU – Brussels, Belgium

As you can see, despite having leave it’s still a very busy month. I actually don’t have any plans as of yet for the leave – so if anyone has any suggestions for a nice European getaway, I’m all ears!

Back to flying with a trip to Brussels, I visited this city with my best friend Lucy when we went inter-railing almost 6 years ago, but haven’t been back since. I’m thinking of heading to Bruges on one of the layovers, following in the footsteps of a fellow Emirates blogger here.

Then it’s two trips home to Stansted, one of which is on my mum’s birthday – what a lovely surprise! I most likely won’t be blogging about these ones as I’ll probably just be relaxing at home with my family.

After that it’s a bit of a tough week – three back to back turnarounds to Kabul, Amman, and Bahrain, and  a Paris straight after. It’s actually been a while since I’ve been to Paris, you can read about my last visit (in 2014!) here (with a friend I made through my blog!).

Lastly another layover in Brussels. As I have two trips to Belgium next month, perhaps I will try and swap one, so stay tuned!

Thanks Manda! Glad you have been enjoying reading my blog 🙂 “Leave” or “Annual leave” is my holiday/vacation, I get 30 days per year!

    Hi Rachel,

Thank you for sharing your experiences and adventures with us – I am always delighted to see a new post.
Porto or Budapest are great destinations during this time of the year, if you are thinking about a quick trip to Europe during your leave.

    All the best, Nora

    Hi Rachel,
I follow your blog religiously and absolutely love it! How lovely that Stansted is a great location for you, I can imagine that it’s not exactly going to be one of the most sought after layover locations for crew! I’m looking forward to seeing the new 777 cabin in the UK!
I was wondering, if after all your time at Emirates, there are still destinations you haven’t visited, that you’d still really like to go to at some point? Also, have you got your sights set on a SFS or Purser position at some point?
Hope you have a wonderful month ahead, and a great leave!
P.S: I can vouch for Madeira as a holiday location in Europe, not overly touristy and some amazing Portuguese landscapes! Xx

Hi Kate! Thanks for reading 🙂 I’m also looking forward to seeing the new 777 cabin as I haven’t seen it yet! Looks amazing for passengers but from feedback from other crew it’s absolutely terrible to work in with no space at all! There are still so many destinations I need to visit, especially as we keep launching new ones haha! I’m definitely hoping to progress to cabin supervisor and then eventually purser, let’s see when it happens.
Madeira sounds lovely, we have been on holiday to Portugal twice though (which we loved!) and it’s quite a long flight from Dubai (8 hours!). xx

I’m so happy to hear that Emirates will be flying to my local airport (Stansted) too! I’m planning on grabbing a flight to Sri Lanka via DBX in February. It’ll definitely save me from going all the way to Heathrow/Gatwick and paying a fortune for parking/the train.

Glad you’ll be making use of our new Stansted flights, who knows maybe I’ll be working one you’re on!
