I’m back with the final few pictures from my mini getaway to Tbilisi!
After our day out in the mountains, we got dropped back off at our hotel, and having already eaten plenty of dumplings, decided to have a stroll around the city and just find somewhere for a drink.
Everywhere you go these Georgian snickers are on display! They make for such colourful displays.
We sat and chatted over our wine, before having a little stroll around the area. There’s a bridge that is lit up at night, so we had a walk along there, before heading back towards our hotel for the night.
The next morning we were up early again, to make the most of our last morning. Starting off with another incredible breakfast in our hotel – if you’re staying in Tbilisi I can’t recommend it enough!
It’s actually possible to walk up instead of taking the cable car, but we decided to save a little bit of time.
The cable car gives you a great view out across Tbilisi and all of the pretty roofs.
Once at the top, we had a walk around admiring the view. There is a huge botanical garden and park in the area behind, which we just didn’t have enough time to explore. However, we did have a chance to walk around the Narikala Fortress located at the top of the cable car.
You can also see the Kartlis Deda Statue, also known as the Mother of Georgia. A huge statue that looks over the city.
After having a walk around the top of the cable car and checking out the fortress, we walked back towards the town to stop for a coffee.
With our flight looming, we just had time for a stroll along Rustaveli Avenue, the central avenue in Tbilisi, where you can find all of the main shops and offices.
Soon enough it was time to head back to the hotel to pick up our luggage and make our way back to the airport. What a fantastic last-minute spontaneous getaway!
I didn’t know much about Georgia before going, and I loved exploring with Emma. We’re hoping to go back in winter for some skiing!
I certainly feel that we got a great taste of Georgia, and hope you enjoyed coming along with me!
